Angel_Baby our Sites Administrator for our Teens	I was roaming around Wetpaint, looking for inspiration I guess... I had one of those heart divulging talks with my number two Admin and needed to look a little more deeply at what is happening with myself, and my own relationship with my Country here. AND whalaa I wandered over to "Alternative Styles" Founded by my Jr. Admin Angel_Baby. Well what do you think I found Readers? Let me back up here, first "Alternative Styles is a Site that accepts all forms of 'living expression' from youth. It's Founder actually works with her fellows to understand the "terms" that they call them-selfs. The music Alternative Styles uses also exemplify each Teenagers expression. This music expresses each Teens "term" that they live, and they also dress their "terms" expression. Kinda like the 60's blown up.
We had terms like Hippie, geek, or gang, or patriot. And we dressed the part. Ahhhh but the times they are a changin, and are much more complicated for our youth right now. Now they have expr4essions like.... Emos, Preps, Jocks, Gothic, Punk, Thugz and more... including our term Geek... to describe not only their appearance but their life's expression... YES! How They Live. So what is the deal here, fragmentation? Now~now Readers you know better than that. Reverse NLP breaks stereotypes and allows one to think for them-selfs with the appropriate information is given. The thing that got me is Thugz, I'm pretty open minded for an "old ass" lol. But the word "Thugz," I do admit brings up distain for me. Maybe it's just to close to the word "thug." As I sit here wondering about my life in this brave new world politically, spiritually, financially, and as just one more person on God's green earth..... Then I noticed that Angel herself wrote something on the "term" Thugz." So What Is A Thug according to the kids Founder? "As Tupac defined it, a thug is someone who is going through struggles, has gone through struggles, and continues to live day by day with nothing for them. That person is a thug. and the life they are living is the thug life. A thug is NOT a gangster. Look up gangster and gangsta. Not even CLOSE, my friend." She goes on to write.... "To be a true thug doesn't mean wearing "bling", listening to rap and talking "black". Being a gangsta isn't superficial.. To be a true thug means you haven't had it good your whole life, and you intend to change that, and get out of the ghetto if that's where you are, you do what's right, you don't take shit from anyone, and stand up for your friends and don't let them take shit from anyone! You don't have to be a stereotypical "gangsta" to be a thug, a skater can be a thug, a nerd can be a thug, a hick can be a thug, a prep can be a thug, and old ass man can be a thug! So forget your stupid fucking stereotypes and thinking that everybody has to fit into one group, and be labeled...." It would seem that, what we lack here is pure acceptance, and allowing a person's full expression to develop into the many levels of their own hearts expression. Here's what really gets me Readers, Angel does go one step further in her description.... Here's is where we need to wake up to the "root cause" of why someone would choose the Thugz life.... "A Thug can be described a few different ways. One of them is growing up in poverty dealing with struggles every single day and feeling that life is hopeless like they have no future all there is look forward to is another drug deal, crime, etc that is one way of a thug. A Thug can also be described as a person who has lead a life of crime, a few example of a thug would be robbing people to supply their drug habits, bank robberies, killing people, you know the rest that's another way of describing a thug. another way of putting it is you can be a thug if you have nothing in store for you, you don't take shit from anyone, your depressed and having nothing left to give, and don't have a care in the world about anything." What are we doing here? Why would a child feel this way? Are we so consumed that we have forgotten where we came from, and the judgments we faced growing up? Worst of all, are we that fearful of our own Children and Grandchildren? What "shit" are they having to take from their own blood relatives let alone a world? To take a defensive posture, one must first, form a reason for the defense.
Prejudice, judgment, and misunderstanding as well as LACK of communication with our children creates a "defense." It creates walls. It creates fears as well, why? Well now lets look at this rationally Readers. Can you "see" a thought? Can you think a thought outside of your head? No.... no one can. Yet thoughts can transmute into actions, they insuperably do. You can't hide a thought, nor can you truly suppress a thought. It comes out generally through an action once a word is spoken. If kids are not talking to you, they will talk to each other, and there is the outlet for the thought to turn into ... deed, more words, and then more action. So who created this "tribalism" effect with the kids? We Did. We unload our beliefs on them, our dreams that we could not accomplish on them and and then expect them too be our dreams), we unload our Religions, Politics, Rules (that by the way WE don't follow but expect others to), and worst yet... We unload our FEAR of others on them. Why? Because WE don't communicate with others well, let alone communicate with our kids. Hell, some of us are not even HONEST with ourself let alone our kids or others. We are trapped in "The Game." And we are no longer even good players at "The Game." We are weak in Politics, Religion, Financial Matters, Relational Matters, and Spiritual Matters. It's no wonder that someone who has had a hard life and made it through that life attracts kids. If for no their reason... they are REAL and yes RAW. That's the draw, that's the magnet, maybe we should expose ourself more with our families, expose what's real with us, and why it is raw. Why? Because raw indicates that you FEEL. And there is nothing wrong with that my Friends and Readers. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm glad that what I'm doing on "Alternative Style" shows other sides to people. I'm glad it means something and I hope you enjoy the site. I'm still working on it though. Just busy with colleges and school. It will be back up and running with new updates. So, I hope you do like what is there.
