To Make A Difference

Thank you for loving me-Bon Jovi, The Rising- Bruce Springsteen

There are those special times in your life where you feel like you've made a difference. Today is one of those times for me.Today I breathe, I rejoice , I feel proud and I feel relieved. Why ? Because I can see, that we as a society are maturing, we are evolving and progressing to the level we should be. I know the articles both Shade and I wrote pre-election made a difference, I know that we provided relevant points and information and I know we were the difference, whether we just made people sit up and listen, whether we made people stop and think...whether we just provided the facts to assist the decision making process of potential voters...WE MADE A DIFFERENCE.

barack obama

Yes, Barack Obama has won the USA Presidential Elections, against all odds. I am not American, I am not of colour, but I also know of America's chequered past, especially in regards to racial issues.

Finally, I see a world power who has begun to mature and one who can overlook race, colour, religion. My greatest fear during this election was that the true politics would not be heard nor listened to, that the American society would overlook the potential Barack Obama has to offer to the future of America.

I would be naive if I believed that race or colour would not play a part on either side of the coin, however the American people have come to the party and selected the best candidate for the job on the political policies put forth.

"The question this time was whether a black man could win the presidency. Forty percent of all white Americans hold a negative view of blacks, according to polling by The Associated Press, and two-thirds of white Democrats express racial misgivings. Yet on Election Day, Obama won more than four of every 10 white votes. Americans said yes, we can overcome our original sin. Fifty years from now, President Obama will be remembered for more than the color of his skin. And this moment will never be forgotten."

racismby Ron Fournier -Washington bureau chief for The Associated Press.

Today, whilst I could not vote, I sat and watched the elections unfold and I know that today is the turning point , today is the beginning of a new era. I have lived history today.
Today is when the rebuilding of America begins, stabilizations of the economy, improved health care, the end of the Iraq war...today, America ,is the beginning of the rest of your lives.

Finally America will truly be United, finally racial prejudice will be replaced by equality, finally America will be what she has the potential to be...a country who practices what it preaches....equal,just,compassionate,strong and caring.

god bless
There is strength in unity..

God bless America and all Americans.

with the American peoples help we must remain in focus and help our nation to re build our country once again that fell in bad times. cause of the selfishness that weeded in our country by war and over spending,
by a president that could care less that started a war that is not able to make peace. We must take care of our country first and worry about our welfare and finding jobs and create businesses that will help the ppl. America is my country and I am proud to be a American. But we must help each other. President Elect Obama Said it is not going to be easy..as he said the road is long and that there will be draw backs and he said that government can not solve a lot of our country s problems. Obama said he will listen and he will be there. to be as a friend and to be there to listen what ever needs to be said. we have to work on this
to get America back on its feet.
